Citypoppin: Plastic love

Welcome to citypopoppin, where I casually talk about 80s to 90s Japanese music.  How about we talk about plastic love? Like many, Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi introduced me to the genre.................... OF COURSE.The song is a love ballad of sorts and It tells the story about some sort of breakup.

~I'm just playing games I know It's plastic LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE~
Can we just take the time to appreciate the cover for the single?

Yeah, the song is fairly good.
Here's a little thing I like to do: Go on discogs and look at vinyl/cd singles and look up the obscure remixes on those singles.
For example, there is a house version of Michael Jackson's
"You are not alone"..... In fact, there will always a house version for every sad Michael Jackson song. Waiting for someone to uncover the house version of little susie........
W H A T   W A S   I   T A L K I N G    A B O U T ?
Oh......Uh....
Yeah, so the vinyl single has two versions of the song.
The club mix and the new remix version.

This version is actually quite nice with the instrumentals around the 1:49 mark. And they're soooo nice to hear. Also those BOM! Noises are nice for me. Oh, wait theres also those trumpets at 4:33 that I adore. But this version is also known for the part at 4:54 that to me I somehow enjoy. It's weird.
Overall, the club version has a bunch of things that are better than the original, like the added atmospheric parts and the weird reverb part.

I dig it.

This version is pretty much Tatsuro Yamashita's take on the instrumental. It's a bit anti-climatic for me. Like I think it would be better if the single had the version where both Mariya and Tatsuro sang the song together.

It's fine.

Score: 9/10

I know It's a single but the reason is because I expect these remixes to be at least good which they completely are but the second track could've been at been better.

Y'know what next post I'm making I'll be talking about those Michael Jackson singles.
